Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using SteamReport.net — from reporting players to understanding SteamID formats, bans, and stats.

Getting Started

What is SteamReport.net?
SteamReport.net is a real-time player reporting system that submits reports directly to Steam through the official Steam Web API using verified bot accounts. Paste a player profile link or SteamID, confirm the detected player, and submit a structured report with clear context about what happened, when, and why it matters. Your report is automatically forwarded to Steam's moderation system, where it contributes to the player's Trust Factor evaluation.
Go to the Report page and paste any Steam profile URL or SteamID into the search bar. Once the player is detected, confirm their identity and fill out the report form with the reason, game, date, and a description of the incident. Click Submit when done. You'll receive a unique reference number for your report.
No. All lookups are performed server-side. You do not need to provide an API key, log in to Steam, or create any kind of account to use SteamReport.net. The site is completely free to use with no registration required.
Yes. SteamReport.net is completely free. There are no premium tiers, subscriptions, or paywalls. All features — including lookups, reports, and stats — are available to everyone.
Yes. The site is fully responsive and designed mobile-first. You can search for players, read reports, view stats, and submit reports from any device with a modern web browser — phone, tablet, or desktop.

SteamID & Player Lookups

We support all major formats: SteamID64 (76561198xxxxx), legacy SteamID (STEAM_0:1:xxxxx), SteamID3 ([U:1:xxxxx]), custom vanity URLs, and full Steam profile links (steamcommunity.com/id/... or steamcommunity.com/profiles/...). The system automatically detects the format you paste.
Paste any SteamID format into the search bar and the system will automatically detect and convert it. The player lookup result displays the SteamID64, which is the universal format used by Steam APIs and most third-party services. Read our SteamID Formats Explained guide for a detailed breakdown.
A player lookup displays the Steam profile name, avatar, SteamID64, profile visibility status, account creation date, VAC ban status, game ban status, and trade ban status. If the profile is public and has CS2 stats available, those are shown as well via the Stats tab.
If a Steam profile is set to private, basic information (name, avatar, SteamID64) and ban status are still available. However, detailed game stats (CS2 stats, play time, etc.) require the profile to be public. You can still submit a report against a private profile.

Reports & Submissions

Reports are immediately submitted to Steam through the official Steam Web API using our verified bot accounts. Each report receives a unique reference number for tracking. Steam's automated moderation system processes the report alongside other community reports. Multiple reports against the same player increase the likelihood of review and action by Valve's Trust Factor system and may result in matchmaking restrictions or bans.
Yes. When you search for a player, the system displays any existing reports associated with that SteamID. This allows you to see if other members of the community have flagged the same player for similar behavior.
You may submit a report based on your experience. However, detailed reports that include specific context — such as the game, date, and a clear description of what happened — are significantly more useful and receive higher visibility. We encourage evidence-first reporting whenever possible.
No. Once a report is submitted, it cannot be edited or deleted. This ensures the integrity and trustworthiness of the reporting record. Make sure your report is accurate and complete before submitting.
Basic rate limiting is in place to prevent spam and abuse. Normal usage is not affected. If you are submitting reports in good faith, you will not encounter any limits.
Yes. We do not require you to log in, create an account, or provide any personal information. Reports are submitted without linking back to your identity. Your privacy is respected.

Bans & Moderation

VAC (Valve Anti-Cheat) bans are issued automatically by Valve's anti-cheat system when it detects cheats, hacks, or unauthorized modifications. Game bans are issued by game developers for violating in-game rules. Both are permanent, appear on the player's Steam profile, and are displayed in our lookup results with days-since-ban information.
Some profiles are marked as protected to prevent false or abusive reports against well-known community members, Valve employees, or professional players. Protected profiles cannot receive new reports through the system. This helps maintain report quality and prevents targeted harassment.
Steam's built-in reporting requires you to be in a match with the player. SteamReport.net allows you to report any player at any time using their Steam profile or SteamID. We submit reports directly to Steam through the official Steam Web API using verified bot accounts. Both methods reach Steam's moderation system, but SteamReport.net provides more flexibility and doesn't require you to be in-game. We recommend using both for maximum effectiveness.
No. SteamReport.net is an independent community project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Valve Corporation, Steam, or any game publisher. All trademarks are property of their respective owners.

Stats & Data

The Stats page provides detailed CS2 performance metrics for any player. It pulls data from Steam, Leetify, and Faceit to show kill/death ratios, headshot percentages, accuracy, win rates, match history, and more — all from a single lookup.
SteamReport.net works with any game on Steam for reporting purposes. The detailed stats features focus specifically on CS2 (Counter-Strike 2), pulling performance data from Steam's own API, Leetify, and Faceit. Report submissions accept incidents from any Steam game.
Stats availability depends on the player's profile privacy settings and whether they have data on the respective platform. Steam stats require a public profile. Leetify and Faceit data require the player to have an account on those platforms. If a section shows as unavailable, it means the data source could not be reached for that player.
