CS2 Rush Mode Fixes and Warehouse Lighting: What Changed in Late September and October

By SteamReport Team · · 4 min read · Back to Blog

Short version: From 24 September to 8 October 2026 Valve shipped a string of Rush fixes: clearer rules on the loading screen, adjusted team damage kick rules, and several rounds of gap and clipping fixes. Warehouse also got better lighting.

Rush: rules and team damage

On 24 September Valve added a better description of the rules to the Rush loading screen and adjusted the rules for kicking players over team damage. The notes do not list the new thresholds, so do not treat any number you read elsewhere as official.

Clipping and gap fixes, in order

Most of the Rush work is small and repetitive, which is the normal pattern after a mode ships. The notes mention it five times:

  • 24 September: various clipping adjustments.
  • 25 September: various gap fixes and clipping adjustments.
  • 28 September: pixel gaps fixed in various Rush rooms, plus clipping adjustments in T and CT Castle rooms.
  • 30 September: various clipping fixes in Rush maps.
  • 8 October: clipping fixes for Rush maps.

If a spot you used to get stuck on or see through is gone, that is probably why.

Warehouse gets better lighting

The 2 October update improved the lighting in the Warehouse map. Valve did not describe the change beyond that line, so the best way to judge it is to load in and look.

Small extras from the same stretch

  • 25 September: a new sv_clantags_enabled option lets custom servers disable clan tags.
  • 8 October: a ping icon was added for dropped defuse kits.

What we could not confirm

Valve did not give team damage numbers or explain the Rush rules in the patch notes themselves. For the exact rules, read the loading screen in game.
